Okay, okay, actually it’s rather an urban legend that ticks are sitting on trees while waiting for their next snack to come along. According to the omniscient wikipedia they don’t climb higher than 1,50 meters.

But then again this special kind of tick is also slightly bigger than the species you’ll find in an average park or garden

[ The text says "Intelligent people don't eat anything with eyes" - there is a religiously inspired vegetarian organisation in Germany using this slogan, though they are usually  showing animals below the headline. I improved this, so that genetically modified vegetables are covered as well. ]
